Date: March 9, 2026 Time: 2:00 PM Venue: Room WS3, Building B3, Design Department (Bovisa Campus – Via Candiani 72)
This workshop aims to bring together three different perspectives:
- the historian’s perspective on oral history especially for the history of computing
- the curator’s perspective in science and technology museums
- the designer’s perspective within intangible heritage studies
Invited speakers will present their research topics and engage in an open discussion, with the aim of underlining the differences as well as the common traits between different disciplines dealing with oral history, curatorship and design. Starting from specific case studies in the history of computing, the workshop will take the oral history perspective as a backbone for addressing more general challenges within historical research and science and technology museums. Furthermore, researchers, curators and designers will discuss and negotiate a broader definition of intangible heritage and how it can be both adopted as a source and a communication output.
Invited speakers are (alphabetically):
- Aron Ambrosiani, Chalmers University of Technology
- Simona Casonato, Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci
- Chiara Di Lodovico, Università Statale di Milano
- Elisabetta Mori, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona
- Antonino Sciotto, Università del Piemonte Orientale
- Raffaella Trocchianesi, Politecnico di Milano
