Analogical Reasoning in Contemporary Physical Theories

Funded under the PRIN 2022, this project aims to determine the conditions under which one can draw plausible analogical inferences in contemporary physics. For this purpose, it will investigate outstanding examples of the use of physical analogies, as in the search for sub-atomic particles, like the celebrated Higgs boson, and in the study of black holes. Funding period: December 2023-December 2025 (National PI: Giovanni Valente).
