How can the humanities make a concrete contribution to engineering research and to the major environmental challenges of our time? This event offers an interdisciplinary journey exploring the increasingly close dialogue between social sciences, technology and sustainability.
The event will open with a talk by Giovanni Valente (DMAT), who will present the activities of META, the interdisciplinary research group dedicated to the philosophy and sociology of science and technology at Politecnico di Milano.
This will be followed by a series of focused contributions from researchers addressing key topics:
- Malvina Ongaro (DICA) – Why an Epistemology of Natural Risks?
- Sofia Belardinelli (DEIB) – Why a Philosophy of Biodiversity?
- Diana Shendrikova (DENG) – Why a Geopolitics of Energy?
An opportunity to explore new ways of thinking about the relationship between knowledge, technology and society, and to reflect on the role that different disciplines can play in shaping the future.
Curated by Giovanni Valente, Department of Mathematics (DMAT).
