Climate migrants: from emergency to epoch-making phenomenon. Causes, research, legislation

The seminar, organised by META (Humanities and Social Studies Unit on Science and Technology of the Politecnico di Milano) and CLIMATE-LAB (Interdepartmental Laboratory dedicated to the wide-ranging study of the effects of climate change), aims to propose an initial reflection within the University on the issue of climate change and, in general, on the social and ethical implications of global warming. Experts in the fields of political geography, economics and jurisprudence will introduce the topic from a technical point of view, providing food for thought on the role of academia and research in the fight against climate change, also with a view to a third mission. The invited speakers are Daniele Bocchiola (Politecnico di Milano), Cristina Cattaneo (Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Climate Change), Robert McLeman (Wilfried Laurier University, Waterloo) and Francesca Perrini (University of Messina).
