This Meta workshop brings together researchers with different backgrounds to discuss topics related to societal challenges in the context of policy design, combining humanistic and engineering aspects in order to design diversity-aware and inclusive policies.
The workshop is designed with a very interdisciplinary component, emphasizing the importance of different perspectives in the practical application of theoretical frameworks to solve real-world challenges.
Speeches will be given by:
- Camilla Quaresmini and Eugenia Villa (DEIB) with “An epistemic-based decision making framework for modeling fairness in adoption diffusion”
- Oriana Guagliardi (DEIB) with “Understanding university dropout from data through a diversity-aware lens”
- Chris Hesselbein (DIG) and Hernan Felipe Bobadilla Rodrigues (DMAT) with “Advancing epistemic justice with local knowledge: a process indicator for EU climate adaptation policymaking”
- Giacomo Crevani (DENG) with “Advancing Just Electrification for Energy Access Planning in sub-Saharian Africa”
