Workshop: Uncertainty in the Sciences, PoliMi, June 24, 10:00-18:30

Venue: Politecnico di Milano, Building 16 (via Bonardi 9), Room 16B.1.1 (ground floor)

The use of scientific models is often accompanied by significant uncertainties. The problem is especially acute when dealing with complex systems, where the variables are numerous and difficult to control. This workshop will bring together philosophical and applied perspectives concerning the quantification and management of key uncertainties in scientific research. Invited speakers are: Paola Berchialla (Università di Torino), Giacomo Marangoni (Politecnico di Milano), Ahti Pietarinen (Nazarbayev University), Behnam Taebi (Delft University of Technology), and Viola Schiaffonati (Politecnico di Milano).
